What would you recommend for my Powerbook?

Okay, so my sister dropped my Powerbook G4 cause half of the blind to go blank and not work! When I took it to the Apple store they said that the incapacitate was pretty fruitless so it would cost me approximately $1,200 (but everything would be changed and fixed, including hd)!! I paid just about $2000 for it a couple years ago. The computer works perfectly fine, except for the broken eyeshade. They "Mac Genius" told me that even though it worked fine, it might take a while for it to start messing up. ITs be months now and its fine. Do you guys conjecture it will really mess up later on?

I suppose what Im debating is whether to shell out $500 to fix the peak only or not? I dont wanna fix peak and then hold computer not work?

Or should I just not do it and linger till it dies and buy another one?

Hello kittykattt,

I'm so sorry to hear about your PowerBook's awful accident. I enjoy a TiBook myself, and it's still working good for me. I love my PowerBook, so I grain your pain.

You can almost buy a MacBook Pro for that price and move your out-of-date files to your new Macintosh. Check out the prices here:

For equal price you can buy the most updated Macs, so that sounds like a better concordat to me personally. Best of luck on your decree.
